Abstract
Hypertension is a chronic disease that can cause stress. Stress will affect the lifestyle of each individual. The research aims is to identify the association between stress and lifestyle in hypertensive patients at the Mlonggo Community Health Center. Descriptive correlation is the method in this quantitative research. A total of 216 samples of hypertensive patients using the Cross Section approach who were taken as respondents as well as employing random sampling. The instruments for this research are 2 questionnaires that have been tested through validity &; reliability tests, as well as a sphygmomanometer for measuring blood pressure. The Spearman Rank Test in knowing hypothesis testing. The outcome of the assessment was there is no relationship lifestyle & stress in hypertensive patients at the Mlonggo Health Centre, Jepara Regency, Central Java, with Sig. (p-value) is 0.439 and the correlation coefficient value is -0.053. The conclusion of this study is that the characteristics of the most respondents based on age were 56-65 years, the highest gender was female and the highest level of hypertension was grade I hypertension. The lifestyle distribution on the incidence of hypertension is at sufficient frequency and the stress distribution on the incidence of hypertension is at moderate frequency. And there is no relationship between lifestyle with stress on the incidence of hypertension at the Mlonggo Community Health Center, Jepara Regency, Central Java.
