Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of interest and the Teaching Campus program on the readiness of prospective professional teachers. This research uses quantitative methods with a correlational design. The sample used was 65 FKIP UMS students who took part in the 5th & 6th Class Teaching Campus Program using a purposive proportional random sampling technique. Data collection used a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis with the help of SPSS ver 26 for Windows software. The research results show that (1) interest has a significant effect on the readiness of prospective professional teachers with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a calculated value of 4.100 > t table 1.999; (2) The Teaching Campus Program influences the readiness of prospective professional teachers with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a count of 3.012 > table 1.999; (3) Simultaneously, perceptions of the teaching profession and family environment influence the interest in becoming a teacher in the younger generation with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05 with Fcount 41.672 > Ftable 3.14. The simultaneous contribution of 0.573 means 57.3%, while the remaining 42.7% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The higher the interest, the higher the readiness of prospective professional teachers. Off-campus teaching experience such as the Campus Teaching Program also influences the readiness of prospective professional teachers.
