Abstract

Landslides are a serious threat to areas that have steep slopes, especially during the rainy season which has high rainfall intensity. Jatiroto Sub-district, Wonogiri Regency is one of the areas prone to landslides. Data on the level of landslide vulnerability in this area is still limited, so this research was conducted to fill the information gap. This research on landslides was conducted with the aim to analyze the level of landslide vulnerability in Jatiroto sub-district and to analyze the actual landslide distribution in the area. This research uses overlay method to classify the level of landslide vulnerability and descriptive analysis to analyze the level of landslide vulnerability and analyze the actual distribution of landslides in Jatiroto Sub-district. This landslide research utilizes primary and secondary data. Primary data is obtained through direct survey in the research area, while secondary data is obtained through existing data from related institutions. The results of the landslide research show that Jatiroto Sub-district is dominated by moderate landslide vulnerability. Low landslide vulnerability has an area coverage of 4,475.873 ha with a percentage of 29%, medium landslide vulnerability has an area coverage of 7,612.881 ha with a percentage of 50% and high landslide vulnerability has an area coverage of 3,243.064 ha with a percentage of 21%. The actual landslide distribution in Jatiroto Sub-district has a clustered distribution pattern with close proximity between landslide points. This research provides recommendations for the government to pay more attention to land use, by not building buildings in areas with steep slopes to minimize landslides. In addition, it is expected that the existing data will be further supplemented for further research. The research on landslides is expected to be a guide for the government and local community in taking policies and preventive measures against landslides in Jatiroto sub-district.
