Abstract

The transmission system is one of the propulsion systems in a vehicle, especially heavy equipment, and this system functions to move the unit forward or backward according to the wishes of the operator. The transmission system on this wheel loader uses a torque converter system where the torque converter rotates the fluid and then the fluid is sucked in by the pump and given pressure by the pump which is channeled to the transmission. The purpose of this analysis is to determine the causes of damage and repair of the transmission system on the XG955H Wheel Loader. The inspection procedure carried out on the transmission system is to carry out a performance test and visual check, then a disassembly process is carried out to check the components to find out the damage that has occurred to the transmission system. The results of the analysis show that the transmission system is damaged in the seal section, causing the transmission system to not work normally. Based on the results from the field, the transmission system has experienced damage to the hub seal causing the fluid pressure to leak and not flow properly, this can occur because the seal has aged. Then this damage can be overcome by replacing the damaged seal components so that the transmission system can work normally. Efforts to prevent greater damage can be done by doing regular maintenance.
