Abstract

Human needs are fulfilled by the presence of electrical and water energy. Both are important needs in everyday life. For example, in bathrooms, the use of electrical and water energy is often underestimated. Some people often forget to fill or close the water tap and also press the switch when they want to leave the bathroom. This can result in wastage of electricity and water used. To overcome this problem, researchers developed manual tools to become automatic. The method used is to conduct a literature study on tool selection such as the use of Arduino UNO R3 and other supporting tools. Next, create a system design for how the tool works and assemble the tool. Then, it was applied as an automatic device in a bathroom based on Arduino UNO R3. Direct equipment testing was carried out in the bathroom using a water level switch and the HC-SR 501 Passive Infrared Receiver (PIR Sensor) sensor with human objects to determine whether the sensor was functioning properly and correctly. Data was taken from testing the PIR sensor by measuring the distance of catching infrared rays with a distance range of 30-150 cm and the ZP3208 water level switch by testing the water level limit < 25 cm or > 25 cm. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out, the water tap in the bathroom can move 90⁰ then the lights and exhaust fan work when the relay is in high state. It can be concluded that this tool functions well and provides comfort to bathroom users.
