Abstract
Complaints related to hearing, such as ringing in the ears and lack of hearing acuity, can occur in the Air Jet Loom (AJL) and Preparation areas in PT which operates in the textile sector, one of which is PT. Dan Liris Sukoharjo. So, it is necessary to analyze factors related to work stress, namely, exposure to noise, length of service, and age. This study aims to determine the factors related to work stress in morning shift workers in the weaving section of PT. Dan Liris Sukoharjo. This type of research is analytical observational with a cross sectional research design and Chi-square statistical test. The research was carried out in the AJL and Preparation areas of the Weaving section of PT. Dan Liris Sukoharjo. The number of respondents was 100 people with a quota sampling technique. The independent variables consist of noise exposure, length of service, age, and the dependent variable is work stress. The instruments of this research are, questionnaires, noise measurement forms, and sound level meters. The average results of noise exposure measurements during 8 working hours in the AJL area were 89.2 dBA (not in accordance with TLV) and Preparation was 72.6 dBA (in accordance with TLV). If AJL workers use ear plug, the noise exposure received will be 74.2 – 79.2 dBA (according to TLV). The majority of workers in the AJL and Preparation area experience high levels of stress, as many as 38 people (38%). The results of this study show that there is a relationship between noise exposure and work stress (p = 0.006), there is a relationship between length of service and work stress (p = 0.000), and there is no relationship between age and work stress (p value = 0.227). Factors related to work stress are noise exposure and length of service, while age is not related to work stress. Therefore, noise exposure and length of service need to be controlled to reduce work stress in workers in the AJL area and Preparation Weaving section, by controlling noise hazards according to hierarchy.
