Abstract

Adolescents with divorced parents grow up to be individuals who are prone to problems. This is in line with juvenile crime cases that have occurred in the last one year. But on the other hand, many teenagers with divorced parents are able to grow and develop well. This depends on how the attachment that grows between teenagers and single parents. This study aims to explain the factors, processes, and impacts of the formation of attachment between adolescents and single parents. The method used in this study is a phenomenological qualitative method with IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) analysis techniques. The participants involved were six teenagers aged 13 to 23 years. The results showed that there are factors, processes, and impacts of adolescent attachment to single parents. Factors that influence the formation of adolescent attachment to single parents are the age of adolescents when their parents divorced, the situation in the family, and the relationship between parents after divorce. Then for the process of adolescent attachment with single parents, it is formed from the attention given by single parents, the way of communication applied by single parents, and the habit of doing activities involving teenagers with single parents. Meanwhile, the impact of adolescent attachment with single parents refers to the impact on parental relationships and the impact on oneself. Keywords: Adolescents, Attachment, Single parents
