Abstract
The Qur'an is the word of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala which serves as a guide to life and guidance for Muslims, so the Qur'an must be read, memorized, understood, practiced and taught to humans. Memorizing the Qur'an is a noble act. One of the processes in memorizing the Qur'an occurs at school both through intracurricular and extracurricular activities. In memorizing the Qur'an, careful preparation is needed, both the readiness of knowledge, time, methods and other things that support the smooth process of memorization. Therefore, special attention is needed from both teachers at school and parents at home. This study aims to describe the implementation in memorizing the Qur'an, through extracurricular programs at Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo Junior High School and the inhibiting and supporting factors in the tahfidz extracurricular process. The type of research used is qualitative research with data collection techniques through interviews, observations and document studies. The data validity technique used is source triangulation and method triangulation. The data analysis method used by researchers is Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis which suggests that data analysis is carried out with the following steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of extracurricular tahfidz at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo in producing hafidz and hafidzah has been running well as a whole. Learning is carried out once a week for 2 hours after the teaching and learning activities are finished. There are several factors that support extracurricular tahfidz learning at Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo Junior High School, one of which is the delegation to take part in competitions for good students in memorizing. While one of the inhibiting factors is the learning hours in the afternoon after the end of the KBM which causes students to feel tired first.
