Abstract

Background: Pregnant women are a vulnerable group to various viruses including the COVID-19 virus because during pregnancy the body experiences physiological changes and the immune system. These conditions make pregnant women susceptible to infection. However, currently there is still limited research that focuses on the clinical manifestations of pregnant women infected with COVID-19, especially in Indonesia. Objective: This study aims to describe the physical, psychological manifestations and needs of pregnant women who are positively diagnosed with COVID-19. Methods: This type of research is descriptive quantitative. Data analysis uses unvariate analysis by calculating, explaining or describing the variables studied. Results: The most physical manifestations that occurred in pregnant women with confirmed COVID-19 were fatigue in 12 people (60%) and cough in 10 people (50%). Psychological manifestations that often occur in pregnant women are anxiety as many as 17 people (85%), while the needs of pregnant women with confirmed COVID-19, namely access to adequate pregnancy and health check-up services during a pandemic, are as many as 5 people (25%). Conclusion: The physical symptoms that are often felt by pregnant women who are confirmed positive for COVID-19 that stand out are tiredness and coughing, the most commonly felt psychological symptoms are anxiety, while the needs of pregnant women who have not been adequate during a pandemic are pregnancy and health check-up services during a pandemic.
