Abstract
Many parties argue that the results of education, especially regarding "morals and morals" are very concerning. It is as if the world of education does not give resonance to the personality of students and only relies on students' academic improvement. To achieve this, students need to instill character education values originating from the teachings of Religion, Pancasila and Culture. This thesis discusses the method of religious character education at Muhammadiyah Kupang High School and Geovani Kupang High School, the aim is to find out the method of instilling religious character, the similarities and differences in the method of instilling religious character and its impact on students' everyday behavior. The research method used is (field research) using a qualitative research paradigm. Data collection techniques interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of research on religious character education methods at Muhammadiyah High School are by habituation, teaching, exemplary, motivation and enforcement of rules. While SMA Geovani Kupang namely teaching, exemplary, setting priorities, prioritizing practice and reflection. The differences and similarities in the methods of cultivating religious character in Kupang Muhammadiyah High School and Geovani Kupang High School are that the Kupang Muhammadiyah High School and Geovani Kupang High School both form the character of students cognitively (moral knowing) and affective (moral loving). Difference: SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang forms Psychomotor character (moral action). Meanwhile, Geovani High School does not. The impact on the daily behavior of students at Muhammadiyah Kupang High School in their daily lives at school is that students are active and cheerful and mingle with each other because there are no differences in rights and obligations given to them by the school. They are all taught to be responsible individuals in their understanding, feelings and practice so that so far the method used by SMA Muhammadiyah is good even though it still needs a lot of evaluation. Meanwhile, at SMA Geovani Kupang, students are very bound by rules so that in their daily lives students are disciplined and neat, but there are still students who are not very active and cheerful, maybe because they are in the minority. However, that is a consequence of the choice to go to school there.
