Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of investment opportunity and corporate finance to dividend policy of the energy firms listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2018-2021 which also controlled by other variables with a total 23 firms’ samples obtained by purposive sampling method. The data analysis using data panel regression method. The results showing significantly negative relationship between investment opportunity and firm’s dividend policy, while corporate finance measured using leverage and external finance proxies are considered insignificant to firm’s dividend policy. Firm’s profitability has significantly positive effect that the investment opportunity decision to firm’s dividend policy need to be determined. Meanwhile market capitalization as well as the two macroeconomic measurements used, namely Indonesia’s inflation and GDP per capita have insignificantly effects so that investment opportunity decision position towards firm’s dividend policy could be ignored.
