Abstract
A traffic accident is an unwanted event that occurs on an unexpected and unintentional road. The factors of adherence to using PPE for motorbikes are knowledge, attitudes and traffic accident events. This study examines the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and traffic accident events with adherence to the use of PPE for motorbike driving among FIK UMS students. This type of research is a quantitative approach cross sectional. The research sample is 342 respondents. The sampling technique used is quota sampling. Data collection with passing questionnaires google form. Statistical test using test chi square. The results showed that the variables of knowledge, attitude and traffic accident incidents had no relationship with compliance with the use of PPE for motorcycling with values p-value each (0.197), (0.459), and (1). The conclusion of the study is that there is no relationship between knowledge, attitudes and traffic accidents with adherence to the use of PPE for motorbikes. So, it is advisable to look for other factors to increase compliance with the use of PPE for motorbikes, which can be in the form of police, counseling, family support, regulations, driving experience and traffic infrastructure.
