Abstract

LPG or other languages Liquefied Petroleum Gas is one of the gases that often leaks. Leaks that occur are often not realised and are very dangerous when the handling is not fast. This research is used to design a security system to detect Iot (Internet of Things) based LPJ gas leaks. In its use, there will be an MQ2 sensor that will detect when a gas leak occurs which is installed near the LPG gas pipe or regulator, then sends a signal to a monitor that is connected to WiFi WEMOS ESP8266. When the gas level is above the minimum threshold, it is detected by the MQ2 sensor and a signal is sent to the web base dashboard, the next security step will occur, namely the regulator will open automatically from LPG gas. The research shows the results by making a minimum limit of LPG in safe conditions <700 PPM and hazardous conditions >700 PPM results in an IoT-based automatic gas leak detection device working well with 100% success referring to the tests that have been carried out.
