Abstract

Karangsari Park Campground is located in Karangsari Village, Sulang District, Rembang Regency, covering an area of 20 hectares. This campground is the largest in Rembang Regency. However, due to lack of maintenance, almost all the facilities in the campground are damaged, and the buildings are no longer suitable for use. Despite these conditions, the campground possesses other potentials, such as its vast and naturally preserved land, far from urban areas, and abundant plant species. Hence, the author proposes the planning and design concept of Developing Karangsari Park Campground in Rembang as an Educational Tourist Attraction. This concept aims to harness the region's potential, aid the government in educating about the preservation of the campground area, and encourage both local residents and tourists to visit. The methods utilized in this report include literature studies, observation, interviews, and benchmarking with other campgrounds. The obtained results encompass the design of Karangsari Park Campground's development as a tourist attraction, with an Eco Architecture approach applied to the mass composition concept, energy-saving concept, and landscape concept. These various concepts incorporate natural elements in materials, ideas, and designs, adhering to the principles of Eco Architecture. The final outcome of this design is a campground that meets the standards for both educational tourism and general campground standards.
