Abstract

In the current era, there are frequent occurrences of criminal acts involving various age groups, including children, both as perpetrators and as victims of these crimes. Based on data from KPPA RI in 2022, it was stated that there were 27,589 crimes with cases of violence, of which 17.4% were committed by minors and it is known that DKI Jakarta has the highest average percentage increase in criminal cases committed by children over the past 3 years, the highest in all of Indonesia . Criminal acts that are committed make minors have to deal with correctional institutions which trigger depressive disorders in perpetrators who are minors. If underage youths have to live in juvenile detention cells, they will lose their role in society. Losing a role will lead to negative environmental stigma and decreased child self-esteem. Therefore, the planned architectural solution is to design a rehabilitation center for children of criminals in Jakarta that is focused on buildings that can reduce and prevent depressive disorders in children. So the design of this building will focus on the concept of a therapeutic environment, which makes every room in the building also play a role in the process of therapy or rehabilitation in the hope of solving the problem of depression suffered by minors, perpetrators of criminal acts. The process of making this concept is done by the method of literature study and observation. The design of this building will be located in Central Jakarta City in terms of several site criteria that comply with applicable standards and regulations and are also in the office, trade and service zone.
