Abstract

UMKM Enggal Jaya is an industry engaged in metal casting. This UMKM produces Ring Api with a production capacity of more than 15,000 products every month. During the production process of Ring Api, several wastes were found. Based on the seven waste categories, Enggal Jaya SMEs tend to have problems with the seven wastes, including overproduction, defects, inventory, motion, transportation, process, waiting. The purpose of this research is to design information flow maps and production maps for making ring of fire components, analyze what types of waste and identify the causes of waste and minimize waste on the Enggal Jaya UMKM production floor, and provide suggestions for improvements to reduce waste that occurs in Enggal UMKM. Jaya. The method used is Value Stream Mapping and Waste Assessment Model. Based on the results of CVSM processing, a Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) of 69% was obtained, while the FVSM obtained a PCE of 73%. In the WRM calculation, waste form overproduction has the greatest value, namely 19%, while waste to inventory has the greatest value, with a value of 18%. Based on the results of the waste calculation using WAQ, it was found that the 5 most dominant types of waste that occurred in UMKM Enggal Jaya, namely waste overproduction 19.2%, waste defect 18%, waste inventory 16.1%, waste motion 15.2%, and waste transportation 13 .3%. Proposed improvements include recording every activity, making Standard Operational procedur (SOP) of production, adding material handling, and forecasting and scheduling the production process.
