Abstract

The hydraulic lift cylinder is a hydraulic system actuator in the form of a tube (cylinder) located on the wheel loader body which functions to lift and lower the lift arm using hydraulic oil as the medium. Hydraulic lift cylinder components include cylinder head, cylinder tube (body), cylinder cover, piston, piston rod (piston rod), o-ring and seal, ring cover, piston locking pin. The movement of the lift arm is carried out by a hydraulic lift cylinder. The lift arm movement system is regulated by the lift arm in valve and the lift arm out valve located on the control valve. The lift arm will make a lifting motion if the lift arm out valve is open while the arm in valve is closed. Fluid will flow from the lift arm out valve and press the piston, vice versa for the lift arm movement down. The damage that occurs to the hydraulic lift cylinder is in the form of no power when moving up and down the arm, and the cylinder arm experiences oil seepage on the sidelines of the cylinder head. Based on the inspection results, the hydraulic lift cylinder was damaged, the cylinder head and piston seals were thin and hardened, and the hydraulic cylinder was dirty which resulted in scratches on the piston and cylinder walls. Then the damage can be overcome by replacing the piston, hydraulic cylinder and a new seal.
