Abstract

This research is about Manipulative Behavior in the Parasite Movie by Bong Joon Ho which is analyzed using the Psychoanalytic approach by Sigmund Freud. The purpose of this research is to find out the manipulative indicators in the movie, to describe the manipulative behavior shown in the movie and the reasons why Bong Joon Ho uses manipulatives in his movie. This research is a literary research with the aim of looking for the relationship between literary work and the author. The primary data in this research is Parasite Movie (2019). Secondary data in this study are other sources related to research, including previous research and related journals that can support research. Researchers draw three conclusions in this research. First, there are three manipulative behaviors shown in the movie, namely, falsifying documents and identities, lying, and sabotaging other people's work. Second, there are 2 ways to show manipulative behavior in movie, namely through characters and events. Third, Bong Joon Ho raises the topic of manipulative behavior to show readers that manipulative phenomena are still often found around us.
