Abstract

The current education ecosystem, when discussing Arabic learning methods has become a complicated topic, discussing Arabic learning strategies has become a complicated topic. SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Muntilan is one of the educational institutions that makes Arabic language a unique characteristic of the school. In this study, researchers hope to learn more about the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach used to teach Arabic as well as what factors encourage and discourage its use. The goal of this study is to describe how contextual teaching and learning (CTL) is being used to teach Arabic to class XI students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Muntilan and to observe what approaches to teaching Arabic are most successful for class XII IPS 2 students at the same institution during the 2022–2023 academic year. The sort of research employed in this study is field research with a qualitative approach, and a phenomenological approach is used to determine how the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) technique is used in learning Arabic. ways for gathering data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Source triangulation is a method for validating data. A systematic and reliable data unit is created through data analysis procedures using data reduction models, data display, and data verification. According to the research findings, the ISMUBA(Al-Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan, and Arabic) special feature curriculum is used in Arabic learning planning as part of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach. Arabic instruction is delivered using a face-to-face system. Using the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach in conjunction with other techniques, such as lectures, direct methods, questions and answers, and so on, will help students learn Arabic. Arabic learning is evaluated by direct assessment. Arabic is a subject that is unique to Muhammadiyah schools and is appealing to SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Muntilan, which is a supporting component in the learning process. Both the usage of technology and the pupils' lack of enthusiasm for learning Arabic are deterrents to the program
