Abstract

This research paper is aimed to describe the activities of English Club of Vocational High School 3 Jepara (ECoS), to explain the advantages and the disadvantages of joining English club’s activities for students. The researcher uses qualitative descriptive research design. The participants of this study are 34 of 10th and 11th grade students of Vocational High School 3 Jepara who joined English Club and 1 coach of English Club. This study apply qualitative descriptive research method. The instruments data are observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation use for collecting data. The results of this study show : 1) The activities of English Club : the routine/core activity (study group), the incidental activities (english fun day, independence day, and ECoS’ anniversary). 2) The advantages of joining English Club for students : increase and improve English skills, add more friends, add experiences in organization, and improve the attitude of (discipline, confidence, and responsibility). 3) The disadvantages of joining English Club for students : students are tired and less focus, lack of students’ understanding of the material, students are less enthusiastic in interacting with others,
