Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a disease where blood pressure is too high. This disease is in the circulation of the main blood vessels in the human body. Elderly / Elderly is a condition where the individual or someone who has experienced the aging process. Aging can be interpreted as a process that will be experienced by all humans without exception, which can be interpreted that every individual has passed three stages of life, namely, childhood, adulthood, and old age. According to WHO, quality of life is an individual's understanding in society of the standard of living, life expectancy and outlook in society. Objective: To determine the quality of life of elderly people with hypertension in the work area of the Colomadu Health Center in terms of 4 domains that have been approved by WHO. Methods: The design of this research is descriptive analysis. The population of hypertension sufferers who are registered as members of the prolanis in the working area of the Colomadu Health Center. The size of the sample is 52 respondents using a total sampling that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The results of the study show that the quality of life of the elderly from the physical domain shows good results, from the psychological domain shows good results, from the social domain is moderate, and from the environmental domain is good.
