Abstract
The background of this research is that many of the general public send their children to schools that have a larger number of students and have a good number of achievements. In general, schools with a large number of students will receive a more positive view of the surrounding community. However, if the number of students at the school is relatively small, then the public's view of the school becomes more different. Then some of the general public also make student achievement one of the community benchmarks in choosing educational institutions, this can be seen from the large number of parents who enroll their children in schools that have good achievements in both academic and non-academic fields. This is a challenge for educational institutions with how to attract students' interest to register at these schools. What will be discussed in this study is Student Management in Improving Student Achievement at MTs Negeri 2 Boyolali. The purpose of this study was to describe student management in improving student achievement at MTs Negeri 2 Boyolali and to describe student achievement at MTs Negeri 2 Boyolali. This research is a type of field research using a phenomenological approach by taking the research location at MTs Negeri 2 Boyolali. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation studies. Data validation techniques through source triangulation techniques and technical triangulation. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that student management is able to improve student achievement through planning by analyzing the needs of students. Organizing with student recruitment, student selection, student orientation and student placement. Directing the development of students through intracurricular and extracurricular activities. Supervision of students through evaluation, recording and reporting of students. Then success in student achievement through academic achievement and non-academic achievement.
