Abstract

Livestock waste will cause impacts and problems for the environment. Bad smell, cloudy water, and itching on the skin are the effects of waste disposal. This makes residents unable to use river water to wash and even many fish die because of it. This resulted in poor groundwater quality and the river water became unpleasant and turbid. This study aims to determine the effect of cow manure on the environment in accordance with Law no. 32 of 2009 and strict sanctions against people who still throw cow manure into rivers. This of course requires immediate handling and management of dairy cow waste so that it does not cause the problem to get worse and endanger the surrounding population. One of the things that can be done is to manage the dairy cow manure into something more efficient. The programs that have been carried out by the local government in Pudak District have in fact not achieved the desired goals. This can be seen how the socialization process carried out did not produce any results. The government does not pay attention to the steps and conditions in handling cow manure in Pudak District. Therefore, river water pollution due to cow manure in Pudak District still cannot be resolved optimally.
