Abstract

Forklifts are industrial vehicles that are used to lift and move materials but are limited to short distances and a certain lifting height. Of the many forklift jobs that cannot be separated from trouble or damage, in writing this final project, what is the damage to the tilt cylinder component, what causes damage to the tilt cylinder, and how to repair the tilt cylinder component of the Toyota 7FD25 forklift. This operator report serves to find out the symptoms or disturbances of the Toyota 7FD25 forklift while operating (working). After knowing the symptoms of the forklift unit, the mechanic performs a visual inspection and tries to operate the forklift by pressing the lever so that the tilt cylinder operates back and forth, and if it is found that more hydraulic oil is seeping or dripping, it is certain that the tilt cylinder has a problem. To determine which components need to be repaired, the Toyota 7FD25 forklift tilt cylinder is disassembled. because the seal on the tilt cylinder is no longer standard so that the tilt cylinder does not work normally anymore. Thus tilt cylinder disassembly. The research conducted by the author is to analyze the causes of damage to the occurrence of damage to parts of the tilt cylinder such as cleaning and checking cylinder barrels, rods, seal systems and pistons. After disassembly on the tilt cylinder and checking the condition of all components of the tilt cylinder, the results showed that there was damage to the seal. After conducting the inspection process and analyzing the damage to the tilt cylinder, it is known the main cause of damage to the tilt cylinder on the tilt cylinder seal which causes water and dirt to enter the hydraulic system and damage the components on the tilt cylinder. So the corrective step is to replace the damaged part in the form of a seal.
