Abstract

In general, this study aims to analyze, describe, interpret and understand the way students think in the HOTS category of class X AP1 in solving SPLDV problems, and obtain relevant evidence regarding variations in students' thinking about solving SPLDV questions and their impact on student achievement. Specifically, this study aims to identify, describe, and examine students' thinking in solving SPLDV problems and the impact of students' varying HOTS in learning mathematics on student achievement. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The objects in this research are the students of class X AP1 SMK Prawira Marta Kartasura for the 2019/2020 school year. Data collection techniques used in this study are interviews, observation and documentation supported by measurement techniques in this study is a test that is presented in a written test. The results showed that what was done was limited to memorizing concepts, learning with and some critical thinking. Students do not have high-order creative thinking skills
