Abstract
Obesity is a condition of being overweight caused by consuming foods with high carbohydrate and fat content. Based on the data profile outpatient visits at the Giritontro Health Center in 2021, the obesity prevalence rate is 74,3%. This study aims to deermine the relationship between carbohydrate and fat consumption with the incidence of obesity in women 30-65 years in Giritontro. This study was analytical observational study with a cross sectional design. The samples was 57 women aged 30-65 years in Giritontro District with inclusion criteria, namely willing to be respondent, able to communicate well, not currently pregnant and breastfeeding, not experiencing physical disabiliies and not having history of illness that affects nutritional status. And taken by consecutive sampling. Interviews were conducted to 57 respondents using Semi Kuantitatif Food Frequency Quisioner (SQ-FFQ) in last three months to find out data on carbohydrate and fat consumption. Nutritional status based on anthropometry, namely height and weight, then categorized using BMI/U indicators. The statistical test used is the Pearson Product Moment (PPM) test. The results show that the consumption of carbohydrates and fats ist a risk factor for obesity in women aged 30-65 years in Giritontro District. The age group with a lot of obesity, namely the ages of 30-49 years, was 57,9%, with the majority being housewives 40,4%. The consumption of carbohydrates and fats respondent in the less category was 59,6%, the good category was 15,8% and more category was 24,6%.There is a relationship between carbohydrate and fat consumption with the incidence of obesity in women aged 30-65 years in Giritontro District (p = 0,001, p = 0,015). Respondent need to avoid consuming foods that contain high carbohydrates and fats, such as consumption of fried food and meatballs.
