Abstract
Motivation is a force, inside and outside, that can encourage someone to achieve certain goals that have been agreed beforehand. However, every motivation can cause changes that are more energetic towards human beings, so that motivation influences feelings and emotional issues so that they can act and even do something more. There is research that reveals that intrinsic motivation does not contribute directly to academic performance. However, in contrast to this research (Muhammad et al., 2017), this research was conducted on learning in China in the context that cultural differences affect the multiplication effect of extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation. However, there is research showing that online learning behavior can mediate motivation and academic performance. Although there is no direct relationship between intrinsic motivation and academic performance, there is a positive relationship between the two, namely paving the way for academic performance to increase student achievement (Liu et al., 2020). The purpose of this study is to measure the effect of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation on academic performance with online learning behavior as a mediating variable. Respondents in this study were 100 people who conducted an online survey using the Google form. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Test the validity and reliability using smart PLS analysis on the outer model. Hypothesis testing uses the outer model and inner model of smartPLS. The results of the analysis show that online learning behavior mediates the relationship between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation on academic performance partially.
