Abstract
Public attraction to private Islamic schools has increased significantly. Increasing competitiveness, especially in private Islamic schools, needs to be considered in order to attract public interest. This opportunity is used by educational institutions to compete to improve competitiveness. Duties and responsibilities of educational institutions in improving competitiveness. The Principal as the highest leader in managing the school and increasing the competitiveness of the school in collaboration with many parties, one of which is the committee. The role of the committee is as a judge, supporter, controller, and mediator. The pattern of cooperative relationship between the principal and the committee can effectively improve the competitiveness of the school, in order to survive and continue to exist in the community. The purpose of this study is to examine the problem of how the principal's cooperation pattern with the school committee in improving the competitiveness of private Islamic schools and the impact on quality at Al-Hadi Mojolaban Islamic Junior High School and Nurussalam Al-Khoir Sukoharjo Islamic Junior High School. This research is classified as field research with a qualitative type of research. The data collection methods used by researchers are: observation, interviews, documentation, with data analysis through three ways: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the data analysis obtained can be concluded, the pattern of cooperation between the principal and the school committee in improving the competitiveness of private Islamic schools at Al-Hadi Islamic Junior High School is said to be very effective based on indicators of cooperation forming patterns including: mutual support and trust, creative and innovative thinking, intense communication, problem-solving ability, mutual benefit, and being supportive and compact. Meanwhile, the pattern of cooperation between the principal and the school committee in increasing the competitiveness of private Islamic schools at Nurussalam Al-Khoir Islamic Junior High School Sukoharjo has a fairly effective cooperation pattern, because only three behavioral indicators were found, namely: mutual support and trust, creative and innovative thinking, and intense communication. The pattern of very effective cooperation between the principal and the school committee at Al-Hadi Mojolaban Islamic Junior High School has an impact on quality and quality. Meanwhile, the pattern of cooperation between the principal and the school committee at SMP Islam Nurussalam Al-Khoir Sukoharjo, which is quite effective, has not had an impact on improving the quality and quality of the school.
