Abstract
This study aims to determine differences in children's early literacy abilities between before and after using YouTube Kids. This research method is an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design that is compared to the condition of the child's initial literacy skills between before and after being given treatment using YouTube Kids. This research was conducted at Aisyiyah Kindergarten (TK) Kartasura Branch which is located at Jl. Slamet Riyadi No. 80, Dusun II, Pabelan, Kec. Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java 57163 in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample for this study used groups B1 and B2 with a total of 33 children consisting of 17 children in B1 group (11 boys and 6 girls) and 16 children in B2 group (11 boys and 5 girls). This research data collection technique was carried out by observation (observation). The data analysis technique of this study used the Wilcoxon test. The work was carried out using the SPSS for Windows version 20 program. The results of data analysis showed that there were significant differences in children's initial literacy abilities between before and after using YouTube Kids. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of using YouTube Kids on the early literacy abilities of children in groups B1 and B2 Aisyiyah Kindergarten (TK) Kartasura Branch.
