Abstract

Abstract Compliance with health protocols during the covid-19 pandemic is very important. However, there are still many people who do not comply with health protocols. This happens because there is still a lack of self-control from society. This research was conducted so that the people of Surakarta city are able to control or control behavior, manage information and take actions properly and can comply with covid-19 health protocols. Therefore, this study aims to test the relationship between self-control and compliance with health protocols to prevent covid-19 in the people of Surakarta. The subjects in this study were people who lived in Karangasem village, Surakarta City and were aged 20-24 years old with male and female genders. The subjects numbered 256 people. The sampling technique used is Purposive Sampling. The data collection tools used in this study were the self-control scale and the compliance scale. Data analysis was carried out with product moment correlation using the SPSS 16.0 auxiliary program. The results of the data analysis showed (rxy) = 0.749, sig. p<0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between self-control over obedience. Based on the results of research and discussion, there is a significant positive relationship between self-control and compliance with covid-19 prevention health protocols in the surakarta community.
