Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of rotational speed on the joint strength of AISI 1010 steel material, this research was carried out experimentally with variations in rotational speed on friction welding machines, there are three variations in this research 800,1000,1200 RPm. In this study, there are three tests to validate the experimental results that have been carried out, the first is tensile testing, hardness testing and microstructure testing. In this study, it was found that the joining of similar steels with type AISI 1010 which is a low carbon steel produces a flush that is not neatly formed due to centrifugal force during friction welding. For the results of the Tensile Test, the highest tensile strength value is found at 1000 rpm with a value of 716 N/mm2. In addition, the hardness value of the Hardness test in the highest weld area is also found at 1000 rpm . rotation
