Abstract
Background : Health literacy is an individual's ability to access, assess and apply health information to determine appropriate interventions in dealing with the problems they are experiencing. The low level of health literacy in an individual causes excessive anxiety, so that it can increase the high stress scale. There are still many individuals who access information from unsourced media, causing excessive anxiety for individuals who will vaccinate. With the conclusion that good health literacy is very influential on individuals and communities who will vaccinate. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between health literacy and stress levels in pre-vaccination participants. This research was conducted at Pajang Health Center, Surakarta Regency, Central Java. Methods : This type of research is quantitative using a descriptive correlative design and a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study amounted to 34 respondents. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling with the measuring instrument used in the form of a Health literacy questionnaire on the EU- 16 scale and DASS. Results : The results of the study between health literacy and stress levels showed a significance value of 0.003, namely 0< 0.05 with a correlation value of 0.494. Conclusion : there was a relationship between health literacy and stress levels in pre- vaccination participants for COVID 19 in the Pajang Health Center, Surakarta.
