Abstract
Cognitive ability in children is influenced by their diet. Optimal eating patterns can encourage children's cognitive abilities so that high learning achievement can be achieved. A good diet will contribute to adequate nutritional intake in children and lead to good nutritional status, so that learning concentration and memory in children increase. Methodology: The type of research was observational analytic with a cross sectional design. The number of samples was 70 students. The data taken were dietary data by interview using SQ-FFQ, nutritional status data by measuring height and weight categorized based on BMI/U, learning achievement data from the average value of subjects in Science, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Indonesian Language. The data were analyzed using person product moment test. Results: Most of the children's eating patterns were in the poor category (64.3%). Most children's nutritional status was in the normal category (40%). Most of the children's learning achievement was in the good category (64.3%). The results of statistical tests showed that there was a correlation between diet and learning achievement, there was a correlation between nutritional status and learning achievement. Conclusion: There was a correlation between diet and nutritional status with learning achievement of elementary school children. The teachers are expected to cooperate with the public health center (Puskesmas) to socialize the importance of maintaining a diet to avoid abnormal weight.
