Abstract

Trash is a major problem that is being faced by various countries in the world. The city of Bekasi has the largest waste collection site in Indonesia, but the city of Bekasi is also one of the contributors to this waste. Garbage that is not managed properly will certainly cause new problems, such as odors, flooding, and environmental damage. The purpose of this study is to determine the public's perception of the accumulated waste and reduce, reuse, recycle-based waste management, as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of the waste management. The method used is a survey with questionnaires and interviews with a number of respondents using the 3R waste management facility. The data collected are in the form of public opinion and views, the level of effectiveness and efficiency of the 3R waste management facility, as well as supporting data such as the location of the 3R waste management and the volume of waste. Analysis using a mix-method and an ecological approach, this study produces data in the form of community satisfaction using 3R waste management facilities managed by the government and non-government. From the two objectives, the results obtained from the first objective are that the community users of 3R waste management facilities have a positive perception of 84% regarding the existence of 3R waste management facilities, and the results obtained from the second objective are the effectiveness level of 72% and efficiency of 69% from the use of the facilities. 3R waste management is at a very capable level in managing household waste.
