Abstract

Art performances in Solo in the 90s were still strongly influenced by culture and traditions that were quite thick, considering that in solo city there was also a kingdom in the form of the Surakarta Palace so that solo people also had a fairly high artistic spirit, because of this the solo community at that time had often held art performances in Mangkunegaran, and Sriwedari in the form of wayang performances, karawitan, batik, dance, and others. As a City of Culture, various performing arts performances always color the days of Solo residents. Starting from village-scale events, cities to international art performances. However, if you look at the facilities and infrastructure to accommodate the performance of art performances specifically, it is not yet available, so art performances are often held in places that are not specifically designed for these activities and cause less than optimal activities and disruption of the surrounding community due to noise that is not managed properly. The design of the Art Performance Center "Solo Theatre Center" in Surakarta City is a form of effort in responding to the needs of facilities and infrastructure in holding art performances so that it is able to accommodate performances or performances of various arts and cultures supported by supporting and adequate facilities by paying attention to the acoustics of the room, and refined with an approach that applies principles to the art of music and dance to the architecture of the building, with the hope that it will be able to harmonize between art and culture which is then translated into the form of a building so that the building can function properly and correctly whose success can be seen in users and environments that feel comfortable and safe so that the performance can be held and take place properly.
