Abstract

This research is entitled "Analysis of the Impact of the Budget Deficit on the Decline of Investment (Crowding Out) in Indonesia in 1999-2020". The main objective of this study is to determine the effect of each independent variable, namely inflation, exchange rate, exports, imports and investment on the dependent variable, namely the budget deficit, and whether there is an impact of the budget deficit on the decline in investment. This study uses quantitative secondary data on a time series from 1999-2020 obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Bank Indonesia (BI), and the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). The analytical tool used is the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) analysis. The results of the study found that inflation and exchange rates had an effect on the budget deficit in Indonesia during the 1999-2020 period. Meanwhile, exports, imports and investment have no effect on the budget deficit in Indonesia. Other results show that during the period 1999-2020 Indonesia experienced Crowding Out.
