Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the agricultural sector and government spending on economic growth in Central Java in 2013-2019. The variables used in this study are domestic investment (PMDN) in the agricultural sector, labor in the agricultural sector, exports in the agricultural sector, and government spending as the independent variable, and economic growth in Central Java as the dependent variable. The variables in this study used secondary data obtained through the Central Java Statistics Agency (BPS) and Central Java BAPPEDA. The method used in this research is panel data. The results of this study show that the domestic investment (PMDN) variable in the agricultural sector has a positive effect on economic growth, while the agricultural sector workforce, agricultural sector exports, and government spending have no effect on economic growth. The government is expected to improve the quality of agricultural production to attract domestic investors, increase human resources in the agricultural sector to increase the workforce, expand the market so that products are known in domestic and international markets, and utilize government spending optimally and efficiently to increase GRDP.
