Abstract
Cylinder boom is a hydraulic system actuator in the form of a cylinder located on the excavator boom. The boom cylinder function is to raise, advance, lower and reverse the boom itself. Cylinder boom components include cylinder head, cylinder tube (body), piston rod (piston rod), piston, o-ring and seal, brake bushing, piston locking pin. The movement of the boom is carried out by the cylinder arm. The boom movement system is regulated by the boom in valve and boom out valve located on the control valve. the boom will perform a lifting motion if the exit valve is open while the boom valve is closed. Fluid will flow from the boom valve out and press the piston, vice versa for the boom down movement. As for the damage to the boom cylinder in the form of no power when moving up and down the boom, and the boom cylinder experienced oil seeping between the cylinder heads. Based on the observation of the cylinder boom, leaks were found between the cylinder head and piston rod, the o-rings and the seals were damaged. Then the repair can be overcome by replacing the o-rings and seals with new ones, while the hydraulic cylinder is cleaned
