Abstract

The red brick industry is a type of business that is quite able to withstand economic shocks. The red brick business is a business that has potential to be developed, because this business has created jobs and can absorb labor in rural areas and small cities. The red brick business is one of the promising small industrial businesses in Baki District. This study aims to determine the sustainability of the brick industry in Baki District and how entrepreneurs maintain the brick industry because it is in the midst of a pandemic. This research method uses a survey method using primary data analysis and secondary data. This type of research based on the approach is a quantitative research. The population in this research object is all business owners of the red brick industry in Baki District, Sukoharjo Regency. According to BPS data in 2019, the number of business owners in the red brick industry is 32 people. So that the population taken in this study amounted to 32 business owners of the red brick industry. The method of data collection is through observation and interviews with craftsmen. Data Processing Techniques with the stages of Editing, Coding (coding) and Tabulation and Data Analysis Methods using cross tables and frequency tables. The results of this study indicate that the development of the red brick industry in Baki District has increased. The average development of production, while capital has increased. The raw material factor for making red bricks can affect development because it is easier to get raw materials, the more an industry develops and the more skilled workers will produce better quality red bricks so that marketing will expand and affect industrial development.
