Abstract

Water is a basic need that is very important in everyday life. The increase in population has an impact on increasing the use of clean water so that it is not balanced with the availability of existing water. So, it is necessary to increase PERUMDAM's services in water distribution so that the needs are met. The purpose of this study is to obtain a solution for the distribution of clean water by considering the cost of distribution and to obtain an alternative distribution network that is optimal. The method used is the transportation method with the initial solution, namely the Vogel's approximation (VAM) method and the optimization test using the modified distribution (MODI) method. The results of this study are that the water source from Caruban is distributed to Balerejo of 2,694 m3/month, to Kedungjati of 389 m3/month, to Glonggong of 498 m3/month, and to Wonoasri of 337 m3/month. The Wungu water source distributes water to Ngadirejo at 2,451 m3/month, to Wonoasri at 2,663 m3/month, to Dempelan at 3,619 m3/month, to Sendangrejo at 551 m3/month, and to Nglanduk at 6,583 m3/month. month. With transportation costs from Caruban to Balerejo of Rp. 170/month, to Wonoasri of Rp. 273/month, from Wungu to Madiun of Rp. 81/month, and to Wonoasri of Rp. 226/month. The total cost of distributing water is Rp. 2,727,528/month.
