Abstract

Moral education basically departs from the urgency of morality in life. Currently, moral education is not only obtained from home, school or the surrounding community but can also be obtained from films through the values contained in it. The phenomenon of moral decline due to recent viewing of films, namely cases of murder and immorality and various other cases as a result of inappropriate viewing. Therefore, it is necessary to write more about films which contain "noble moral education values and not just based on the popularity of the film". One of the films that contains the values of moral education is the film from Iran entitled Where is The Friend's Home?. Through this film, the researcher wants to know how the values of moral education are contained in the film Where is The Friend's Home? by Abbas Kiarostami?. The purpose of this research is to analyze the values of moral education contained in the film Where is The Friend's Home? by Abbas Kiarostami. The type of research used in this study is library research with a qualitative research approach and to find out the signs contained in the film using a semiotic approach. Techniques data collection by observation and documentation. The technique of validating the data is through increasing the persistence of observations, triangulation of techniques and the adequacy of references. The data analysis technique used is Roland Barthes' semiotic data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the values of moral education in the film Where is The Friend's Home? Abbas Kiarostami's works are brave (syaja'ah), honest (Shidiq), firm, patient, respectful of others, tawadhu (humble and not arrogant), help each other, be kind, care for others, weak gentle, sincere , helping parents, holding back anger, responding to greetings, cooperation, parental love for children, and being wise.
