Abstract
Purpose of this study was to (1) determine the physical quality of groundwater in gold minig area, (2) determine the chemical quality of groundwater in gold mining area, (3) compare the physical quality of gold mine groundwater with groundwater outside the gold mining area, (4) compare the chemical quality of gold mine groundwater with groundwater outside the gold mining area, (5) knowing the impact of contamination or exposure to gold mine groundwater on local resident, (6) explaining how to overcome the impact caused as a result of contamination or exposure to groundwater gold mine Kuthuk Gold Mine Area, Geritan Hamlet,Jendi Village, Selogiri District, Wonogiri Regency. This research is a type of case study researh. The data in this study are primary data and secondary data. The data source in this study was obtained from ground water samples taken in the Kuthuk Gold Mine Area, Geritan Hamlet, Jendi Village, Selogiri District, Wonogiri Regenc wich was then tested at the Sukoharjo DLH Laboratory, Chemical Engineering Laboratory Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, Integrated Chemical Engineering Laboratory Eleven March University. The analysis technique in this study uses several stages including (1) sampling, (2) processing samples into implementation methods, (3)testing samples of physical quality and chemical quality based on predetermined parameter and quality standart, (4) analyzing the comparison test result with quality standards, (5) analyze the impact due to contamination and exposure, (6) countermeasures due to the impact of contamination and exposure. The results of the analysis conclusions in this study there are that the parameters of physical quality test and chemical quality that meet and do not meet the quality standard.
