Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the discovery learning model that can improve the learning performance of class XI IPS 1 students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Sumenep. This type of research uses Action Research with a research design, namely Classroom Action Research (CAR) which applies 2 cycles where each consists of 4 components, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were economics teachers and students of class XI IPS 1, with a total of 13 students, consisting of 10 male students and 3 female students. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, tests, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that it can be seen from the average value of the percentage of students who experienced an increase in pre-action (23.076%), cycle I (53.846%), and cycle II (84.615%). So it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning learning model can improve the economic learning performance of students in class XI IPS 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Sumenep.
