Abstract

Islamic boarding school have a different education from other educational institutions, boarding school have unique and special characteristic that stand out,where students have close kinship with each other. Life in a boarding school does not look at being poor or rich, because if a child has entered and attended in a boarding school, the boarding school will generalize without discriminating for one another. The application of character education values of Muhammadiyah Boarding School Al-Islam Paleran uses habituation through scheduled boarding activities and regulation that apply in daily life, then through uswah or the example from the teachers and also through advice between the activites. The activities include : muhadharah (public speaking of 3 language), afternoon school (darsul masa’), mufrodat/vocabulary, structure, nahwu shorof and so on. This study to describe the internalization the character education values of students towards Allah SWT, themselves and environment at the Muhammadiyah Boarding School Al-Islam Paleran and the factors that influence the internalization the values of character education for students of Muhammadiyah Boarding School Al-Islam Paleran, Umbulsari District, Jember Regency. This type of research uses field research with a quarrying research approach. Sources of data used primary and secondary data sources, data collection methods using interviews, observation and documentation, then analyzed using triangulation and technical triangulation. Data analysis in this study is qualitative data analysis. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded : 1) The internalization of the value of character education towards Allah SWT is faith and piety and sincerity, and towards oneself is discipline and patience using the method habituation, uswah or the example and advice. 2) Factors in internalization the value of character education are internal and exsternal factors as well as supporting and inhibiting factors themselves.
