Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney failure are more influenced by lifestyle, drinking habits, consumption of supplement drinks, foods containing formalin, and lack of drinking water are trigger factors. Coupled with the demands of work that require more energy instantly by consuming energy drinks. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between energy drink consumption and the incidence of chronic kidney failure in hemodialysis patients at dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta. The research method used is a correlative quantitative research approach. Respondents amounted to 38 people, in the selection of respondents using accidental sampling technique. The researcher obtained the results of the Spearman Rank correlation test, the rs value was 0.489 with a significance value (p-value) of 0.002 so that H0 was rejected. Based on research, consumption of energy drinks in hemodialysis patients at Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta is mostly frequent, chronic kidney failure in hemodialysis patients at Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta based on GFR scores is mostly in the heavy category, and there is a relationship between energy drink consumption and the incidence of kidney failure. Chronic kidney disease in hemodialysis patients at Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta., namely the more frequent consumption of energy drinks, the more severe chronic kidney failure.
