Abstract

This study aims to research the background, teachings and processions of the local wisdom of metri tuk babon in Mount Merbabu National which aims to cultivate the character of caring for the environment to the community. This type of search is qualitative. Data collection techniques in the study used interview, documentation, anda observation. Sources of data in the form of sources, events and activities as well as documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Hubberman model, namely the flow model in which there are procedures for data collection, data reduction, data display and draing conclusions in analysing data. The validity of the data was assessed by technical training and source triangulation. Metrics of Babon's local wisdom to strengthen its environmentally friendly character include an environmentally friendly attitude, avoidance of environmental damage, environmental cleanliness, and an environmentally friendly character. included. The results of this study show that strengthening the nature of environmental protection in the metric Tukhihi loc l wisdom of Mt. Melbab National Park is motivated by environmental damage such as landslides, forest fires and illegal logging. increase. The teaching is to protect the natural environment and the source of the Tukbabon fountain, but the annual procession of traditional rituals offered in the form of agricultural products and tree seed reflects environmentally conscious behaviour.
