Abstract

Karanganyar Regency is an area that is prone to landslides in several districts. This landslide event can be influenced by soil physical properties such as soil plasticity and texture. In certain locations the geological area of the Wonosari Formation is classified as a landslide-prone area. Therefore, it is necessary to describe the properties of plasticity and texture. This study aims to analyze the physical characteristics of landslide-prone soils and explain the relationship between the physical properties of the soil and landslide susceptibility. The research method used is survey and laboratory analysis. The sampling method used was purposive random based on a predetermined location. Search relationships using the Pearson model correlation method. The results of the study stated that the highest IP (Plasticity Index) was in Tawangmangu District which had limestone morphology. The largest texture of dust and sand is described in Jatiyoso District which is still associated with lava and volcanic formations. Correlation studies show a negative correlation between IP and landslide susceptibility. Meanwhile, there is a weak relationship between clay percentage and landslide susceptibility. In this study, it is necessary to conduct repeated research and add variables to obtain more reliable and detailed data.
