Abstract

Natural disasters which every time passes, will remain and always exist with various causes or backgrounds of occurrence and tend to increase. It cannot be separated from the reactions of the public which are often considered normal but can actually interfere with the highest interests of society, because it becomes important to discuss natural disasters in the Book of Tafsir Al-Qur'an Suci (Basa Jawi) which is the the work of a professor in the field of fiqh. This thesis is a qualitative research that uses a descriptive-exploratory research approach. With the qualitative data analysis method, the data that has been collected by the documentation method and selected and then presented based on certain criteria accompanied by verses, translations, interpretations and translations of interpretations that are in accordance with these criteria are then described in terms of their interpretation before the end, from those descriptions. determined according to and related to the previous criteria based on the Tafsir Al-Qur’an Suci (Basa Jawi). This was done so that the interpretation of Prof. K.H.R. Muhammad Adnan regarding the verses of natural disasters in his Book of Tafsir, Tafsir Al-Qur’an Suci (Basa Jawi). Based on (the criteria) there are nine terms of natural disasters in it which when viewed from the positive side can be interpreted as trials, penances, lessons, and when viewed from the negative side can be interpreted as retaliation.
