Abstract

The research aims are: 1) Describe the influence of achievement motivation on interest in learning. 2) Describe the peer environment of interest in learning. And 3) Describing the influence of achievement motivation and peer environment on students' interest in learning economics in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Bangsri. This research method using quantitative survey design. The population of this study are 349 students and the sample of this study are 186 students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Bangsri acquired by using the Slovin formula and the data are collected using a questionnaire. The techniques of data analysis used is multiple linear regression, T test, F test, R2, Relative Contribution and Effective Contribution. The results of data analysis obtained the equation linear line of Y = 7,883 + 0.396 X1 + 0.381 X2. This is evidenced by the results of Fcount of 104.625 and greater than Ftable 3.05 (Fcount> Ftable). The varaible of achievement motivation gives a relative contribution of 52.5% and an effective contribution of 27.98%. The peer environment variable gives a relative contribution of 47.6% and an effective contribution of 25.36%. The result of caculation for R2 is 0.533 or 53.3% interest in learning is influenced by achievement motivation and peer environment. Students must always increase self-motivation, be good at choosing playmates and always develop an interest in achievement.
