Abstract
This research aims to describe the management and the supporting factors as well as the inhibiting factors in the management of the Madirda Lake tourism object in Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar Regency. This type of qualitative research with ethnographic research design. The object of this research is the Madirda Ngargoyoso Lake. While the subject is the manager of Lake Madira. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity of the data using triangulation of sources. The data analysis technique used ethnographic techniques. The results showed that: 1) management planning includes short-term, medium-term, and long-term planning. 2) the implementation of management prioritizes local wisdom, cultural uniqueness and environmental preservation with existing resources and carries out development to support tourists visiting Madirda Lake. 3) management supervision is carried out every day by the manager in the form of supervision such as complying with prokes, unclear visitor anarchy, supervision of development projects, employees, and monthly administration. (4) Inhibiting factors are erratic weather, lack of professional human resources, road access to tourism cannot be passed by big buses. (5) Supporting factors are promotion of tourist objects that are always up to date on social media, natural conditions that are still natural, support from the tourism office and academics.
